Inspired by the surf culture of the 1960s, Woodies Wash Shack is a family-owned business that offers the best car wash experience in the Tampa bay area. This location marks a testament as the beginning of an expansion into the region. Built with the customer and community in mind, this design utilizes the most cutting-edge technology in the car wash industry. The use of natural materials such as wood and stone, combined with vibrant colors and retro signage, creates an ambiance that transports customers back to the golden era of surf culture. EMPAD has introduced the first-ever two-story Woodie’s Wash Shack model that features an impressive 100-foot car wash tunnel, allowing customers to enjoy a wider range service and enhancing their car wash experience.

As a repeat client, MacDill looked to EMPAD to undertake an extensive interior renovation of their 25,000 square foot fitness facility to include space planning, a new mezzanine and vertical circulation elements, mechanical upgrades, new equipment layouts, finishes, and lighting. The result is a state-of-the-art fitness center that is designed to best serve the MacDill community as it seeks to promote healthy lifestyle opportunities for its employees and their families.

EMPAD was thrilled to be a part of an ambitious eco-friendly project that involved
the expansion of an upcoming Tesla gigafactory. The design of this project is truly
uncompromised, featuring storage for cars and equipment, a showroom and a
service repair center. This comprehensive approach presents a unique solution to
the intricate challenges of the automotive industry. As Tesla strives to lead the
world towards a more sustainable future, we aimed to do our part by implementing
innovative designs that promote a sustainable environment.

The Saint Hotel is a 1950s landmark that has undergone a redesign process incorporating retro elements to evoke the nostalgia of its glory days. The objective was to create a modern yet vintage aesthetic, that combines the laid-back feel of the nearby beach with the beguiling artistic nature of the adjacent city. EMPAD conceptualized and executed a design that conveyed a playful beach vibe while also paying homage to the culture of the area and its past. The exterior incorporates large-format murals that capture the boutique feel and essence of the era in which the hotel was established.

The renovation of half of an existing single-story warehouse for the congregation of Grace Family Church in Tampa provided EMPAD with a complex set of needs for design solutions that would best serve this growing church. Providing complete demolition of the interiors and creating a new sanctuary, lobby, classrooms, coffee shop, restrooms, staff offices, childcare center and exterior courtyard, the design outcome was one that enabled this community of people with such a wide range of activities to best function within this new environment and continue to serve the surrounding Tampa community from a central location.
